Meet the ASUS Fonepad 7 - 7in tablet with full phone functionality

Meet the ASUS Fonepad 7 - 7in tablet with full phone functionality

>

The Fonepad 7 is the latest evolution in ASUS's phone-tablet hybrid design. It combines a fully featured 7-inch tablet with a mobile phone, so you have one less thing to carry around. Compared to taking a phone and tablet out with you, the Fonepad 7 is lighter, cheaper and more convenient.

You can make and receive calls directly on the device or via a Bluetooth headset. It has HSPA+ built in, which supports fast download speeds up to 42Mbps where available. You'll also find fast 802.11n Wi-Fi for when you're in range of hotspot.

It's powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core processor, based on the latest Clover Trail Plus architecture, bringing all the features of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to life. The new processor not only provides a significant speed boost, but its low power consumption allows for up to 9 hours of continuous use.

Up to 32GB of internal storage is available, which can be expaned by up to an additional 64GB thanks to the micro-SD HC card slot -- providing almost 100GB of storage for music, movies, books, photos and games.

The high definition IPS panel is capable of vivid graphics and an increased colour range, along with a wide 178 degree viewing angle, so you can comfortably make out what's on screen no matter how you hold it.

Stereo speakers enhance the audio performance, whether you're listening to music, movies or games. Dual cameras -- 5-megapixel at the rear, 1.2megapixel at the front -- let you take high quality pictures and capture video at up to 1080p.

The Fonepad 7 combines the best a 7-inch tablet has to offer with the mobile communication functionality that comes as standard in a phone, leaving you one less thing carry around.

Meet the new Nexus 7 - thinner, faster, higher resolution

Meet the new Nexus 7 - thinner, faster, higher resolution

This is the new Nexus 7. It's a 7-inch Android tablet with the sharpest ever tablet screen and the first with built-in wireless charging, eliminating the need for clumsy power cables.

With a resolution of 1,920x1,200 more than 2.3 million pixels are packed into the new Nexus 7's display at an incredible 323 pixels per inch, bringing apps, games books and movies to vivid life with phenomenal image quality at full 1080p HD. ASUS TruVivid technology improves colour clarity and brightness, while the 30 percent wider colour gamut means more vibrant and accurate colour reproduction in all the content you love.

Scratch resistant Corning® Glass and a grippy soft-touch exterior ensures the new Nexus 7 is also incredibly robust, while the 8.65mm thickness, thinner bezels and low 290g weight mean the new Nexus 7 is even more portable than a paperback book.

Nexus 7 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor with 2GB RAM for incredible performance and immersive mobile gaming with effortless energy efficiency that gives up to 10 hours battery life. Movies and games sound amazing too, thanks to Cingo mobile audio technology from Fraunhofer, the creators of the MP3 encoding format.

With high quality cameras front and rear, the new Nexus 7 is ideal for video chat with Google Hangouts, and can capture crystal clear photos, videos and 360-degree Photo Spheres for instant sharing on Google+. The new Nexus 7 also features dual-band Wi-Fi and optional 4G LTE for silky smooth HD video streaming, ultra-responsive web browsing and blazingly fast downloads.

The new Nexus 7 is the first tablet to ship with Android 4.3, the latest version of the world's most popular mobile operating system. Tablets are perfect for sharing with others and Android 4.3 introduces restricted profiles that, for example, allow parents to limit children's access to mature content. Nexus 7 also comes loaded with Google apps — like Chrome, Maps, YouTube, Hangouts and Google Now — that are designed for the cloud, so everything is simple and works seamlessly across multiple devices.
